Welcome to Aurora
Hi! We’re Nick and Nat and we welcome you to Aurora Mind and Body. At Aurora, we’re not just about physical fitness, we’re also about mind fitness. Taking a holistic approach to both mind and body fitness, we provide a number of different wellbeing services to help you #getmindandbodyfit.
Nick is a 20+ year veteran of the IT industry, and Nat is a highly experienced technical project manager with experience in the financial services industry. Together we have many years experience in coaching, leadership and simply getting things done. These skills gained in industry help us in our real passion – helping others to enjoy exercise (and life) in the same way we do.
Nick is a highly qualified Personal Trainer, with a personal focus to help you identify your goals. Nick delivers one-to-one or small group sessions and his specialty is in designing circuits that can be done with minimal or no extra equipment. Nick can also offer nutrition evaluations in line with healthy-eating guidelines to help you understand your diet better.
Nat is an experienced Yoga and Pilates Teacher and Fitness Instructor, and has all the skills required to get you fitter, stronger, and more flexible. For many people, getting into the right headspace to perform well in competition or even having the confidence to get started with exercise are the hardest parts of getting mind and body fit. As an experienced Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapist, Nat can help you overcome this, whether you need help with relaxation to reduce stress, or have more complex issues to resolve.
We understand that for many people, getting started on your fitness journey can be difficult and intimidating, and gyms can be scary places to be. We understand that not everyone wants or needs to be super-muscley or able to run hundreds of kilometres a day. Many people simply want to improve their overall health and fitness to keep mobile as they get older. We’re able to offer a number of different services to help you, and can offer packages with as few or as many of the services we offer as needed. What we offer
An alternative to counselling, hypnotherapy is a great way to help you make changes to your life and emotionally heal. If you’ve got a problem to overcome or a goal to reach, hypnotherapy could help you work through it and, most importantly, feel better!
Unlike counselling, hypnotherapy is frequently coined as a shorter term therapy, with results often becoming evident within a few sessions*.
We offer hypnotherapy as part of our Hypno Yoga treatments in North Swindon or hypnotherapy on its own through our virtual therapy clinic. If you choose hypnotherapy in our virtual clinic, you won’t even have to worry about travel. This makes our virtual clinic hypnotherapy sessions really accessible.
Virtual meditation and relaxation sessions
We also offer meditation, Yoga Nidra (yoga sleep) or hypnotherapy relaxation sessions in our virtual therapy clinic and private studio in North Swindon. They’re great for insomnia, stress and anxiety ‘maintenance’ or if you simply require some time out. Our hypnotherapy relaxation sessions are also great as a taster of what to expect from hypnotherapy if you’re not completely sure about a full session.
Our approach to helping you
Clients often ask for help with one problem when actually their issue could be down to a combination of things. For example, maybe you’re feeling stressed and anxious about work and as a result, you’re not sleeping. You might approach us for help with sleep but to help you solve your sleep problem, we could also explore your work situation at the same time. Combinations of such things can have an impact on our ability to cope with life and as a result, a holistic approach to therapy can be most effective.
Of course, dealing with issues and working towards goals doesn’t just happen in your therapy session. There’s certainly no magic wand to make problems disappear, as lovely as it would be to have one of those! The aim is to help you find you own way forward during our sessions together and to teach you coping and goal-reaching strategies that can be used in everyday situations. This approach empowers you to take control of where you want to be, in the least amount of time. Our goal is to help you feel more confident in dealing with whatever life throws at you.
Hypno Yoga and Yoga Nidra (yoga sleep)
A great alternative to hypnotherapy in Swindon, our private Hypno Yoga sessions are a unique combination of yoga poses, Yoga Nidra (yoga sleep) or hypnotherapy. In a Hypno Yoga session, we’ll have a chat and start with yoga poses chosen especially to help with the issue you’ve come to see us for. We then finish with a Yoga Nidra (yoga sleep) or hypnotherapy relaxation tailored to your goals. We also offer Hypno Yoga classes occasionally. Swindon yoga and pilates classes, and private yoga and pilates tuition
You don’t need to be fit or flexible to #getmindandbodyfit! Our pilates and yoga classes are mixed-ability for general fitness, so they’re suitable for beginners as well as seasoned yogis and pilates practitioners. If you’re looking for fun, friendly and non-judgemental pilates and yoga classes with no gym memberships, our classes in North Swindon are for you.
But I find classes daunting…
If you find group pilates and yoga classes daunting or would like more personal attention than a group class can offer, private yoga and pilates tuition in North Swindon could help you build up the confidence to attend a group class should you wish. You could also bring a friend and have your own personal class. Pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga are also available as private sessions.
Personal training in North Swindon and online
The great thing about personal training is that it’s personal to you. Personal training is so much more than just an exercise session with a trainer. We can work together to identify your goals and come up with a plan of action to help you meet them. As well as an exercise schedule, your individual plan might also involve taking a look at your diet, or making small changes to your daily routine. Whether you’re just starting out on your fitness journey, wanting to get your fitness back after a break or somewhere in between, personal training could be just what you’re looking for.
Choosing the right person to help
It’s important to choose someone you can trust, who’s well-qualified and will listen to you. Therapists, personal trainers, and yoga and pilates teachers are as individual as you are. We all have different personalities and styles. As mind and body wellbeing specialists at Aurora, we’re obviously passionate about fitness and mental wellbeing is hugely important to us. But these things aside, we’ve also been where you might be now. Between the two of us, we’ve experienced generalised anxiety, had problems with self-confidence, experienced insomnia and stress as a result of burning ourselves out at the office and longed to feel fitter and stronger but not known where to start. Having worked through these issues ourselves, we can empathise with what you may be going through and we’re therefore well placed to help you find your way.
